1A makeup style called cookie makeup has become popular with teenage girls in Japan. It mainly uses warm colors such as brown and beige.

2The finish is soft and matte, with very little shine. Makeup guides say it looks like cookies just out of the oven.

3The Tokyo marketing company AMF asked 1,000 junior high and high school girls about trends. In June, it said cookie makeup came fifth in its goods group. AMF said girls like it because it looks done up but still natural. It is also easy to copy with cheap makeup.

4In July, the teen fashion magazine nicola showed its readers how to do the look. Some people also draw small freckles across their cheeks and nose.

全文訳

1「クッキーメイク」というメイクが、日本の10代の女の子たちのあいだで人気になっています。おもに、ブラウンやベージュのような、あたたかい色を使います。

2仕上がりはふんわりとしたマットで、ツヤはほとんどありません。メイクの紹介記事では、焼きたてのクッキーのように見えると説明されています。

3東京のマーケティング会社AMFは、女子中学生と女子高校生1000人に流行について聞きました。6月、AMFはクッキーメイクがモノ部門の5位に入ったと発表しました。AMFによると、しっかりメイクしているのに自然に見えるところが好かれています。安いメイク用品でもまねしやすいそうです。

47月には、10代向けのファッション雑誌「ニコラ」が、読者にこのメイクのやり方を紹介しました。ほおと鼻にかけて、小さなそばかすを描く人もいます。

文法ポイント：look like + 名詞 ／ look + 形容詞

look like ＋名詞 は「〜のように見える」、look ＋形容詞 は「〜に見える」。本文の it looks like cookies just out of the oven は「焼きたてのクッキーのように見える」、it looks done up but still natural は「しっかりメイクしているのに自然に見える」。
