Breakfast and Good Grades
1Students with good grades are less likely to skip breakfast, a large U.S. study found. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published the study in 2024.
2More than 20,000 high school students answered a national survey in 2023. About 18 percent did not eat breakfast at all in the past week. That is almost one in five students. Students who got mostly A's and B's were less likely to be in this group.
3Japan has similar data from its 2024 national test. Students who always ate breakfast scored about 15 points higher in each subject. They were compared with students who never ate it.
4These studies show a link, but they do not prove that breakfast makes you smarter. The CDC team said the survey could not show which comes first. The report suggested that schools serve breakfast in classrooms, too.
