Do Not Trust Fake Virus Warnings
1Fake virus warnings were the most common online problem in a new report. A Japanese help center got 1,428 questions about them from April to June 2026. That was more than in the three months before.
2The warnings suddenly appear on the screen while people use the internet. Some of them make loud sounds. They say that the device has a virus.
3But the warnings are not real. They tell people to call a phone number. Then tricksters try to sell them a support service they do not need.
4The police say you should never call the number. Close the web browser instead. Do not install any software that the warning asks for. If the screen will not close, restart the device.

1新しい報告で、ネットのトラブルでいちばん多かったのは、ウイルスの偽警告でした。日本の相談窓口には、2026年4月から6月に、偽警告について1428件の相談がありました。これは、その前の3か月より多い数でした。
2偽警告は、インターネットを使っているときに、急に画面に出てきます。大きな音が鳴るものもあります。機械がウイルスに感染していると表示します。
3しかし、その警告は本物ではありません。偽警告は、ある電話番号に電話するように言います。そのあと、だます人が、必要のないサポートを売りつけようとします。
4警察は、その番号には絶対に電話しないように言っています。かわりに、ウェブブラウザを閉じましょう。警告がすすめるソフトウェアは、何も入れてはいけません。画面が閉じないときは、機械を再起動しましょう。
文法ポイント：命令文（～しなさい／～してはいけない）
動詞の原形で文を始めると「～しなさい」、Do not（Don't）で始めると「～してはいけない」になる。本文の Close the web browser instead. や Do not install any software that the warning asks for. がその例。
