Infinity Castle Becomes Second Film to Pass 40 Billion Yen

1Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, Part One passed 40 billion yen at the Japanese box office on March 29, 2026. It became only the second film ever to cross that line in Japan. The first was Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, which opened in October 2020.

2Infinity Castle opened in Japanese theaters on July 18, 2025. Its first three days were the biggest opening in Japanese box office history. The film reached 10 billion yen in eight days and 20 billion yen in 23 days. It hit 30 billion yen after 46 days.

3The 40 billion yen mark came 255 days after the film's release. By that date, more than 27.3 million people had seen it in Japan. Mugen Train still holds the top spot, with about 40.8 billion yen. The two Demon Slayer films now hold first and second place in Japan.

4The film also sold well overseas. It began opening in other countries in August 2025. In November, its distributor, Aniplex, said the movie had earned 106.4 billion yen worldwide. That made it the first Japanese film to pass 100 billion yen around the world. About 89.2 million people had seen it, including viewers in Japan. The film had opened in China two days earlier, on November 14.

5Infinity Castle is the first film in a three-part series. The studio ufotable lists the second chapter as an upcoming project. Most theaters in Japan are set to end their showings of Part One on April 9, 2026.

1「鬼滅の刃 無限城編 第一章」の日本での興行収入が、2026年3月29日に400億円を超えました。日本でこの大台を超えた映画は、史上2本目です。1本目は、2020年10月に公開された「鬼滅の刃 無限列車編」でした。
