1Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh broke three world records in five days in June 2025. She was 18 years old at the time.

2She swam at the Canadian Swimming Trials in Victoria, Canada. Swimmers race at the trials to get a place on the national team.

3On June 7, she won the 400-meter freestyle in 3 minutes and 54.18 seconds. That was more than one second faster than the old record. Two days later, she broke a 10-year-old record in the 200-meter individual medley. In this race, swimmers use all four strokes. On June 11, she broke her own world record in the 400-meter individual medley.

4At the 2024 Paris Olympics, McIntosh won three gold medals and one silver medal. She was the first Canadian to win three gold medals at one Olympics.

全文訳

12025年6月、カナダの水泳選手サマー・マッキントッシュさんが、5日間で3つの世界記録を破りました。彼女はそのとき18歳でした。

2彼女はカナダのビクトリアで開かれた、カナダ代表の選考会で泳ぎました。選手たちは代表チームに入るために、この選考会でレースをします。

文法ポイント：比較級 + than（～より…）

2つを比べるときは「比較級 + than」。本文の That was more than one second faster than the old record. は「それまでの記録より1秒以上速かった」。more than one second は「1秒より多く＝1秒以上」。
