1Movie fans around the world shouted two words at the screen in April 2025. The words were chicken jockey. They come from A Minecraft Movie, which opened in theaters on April 4, 2025.

2In the Minecraft game, a chicken jockey is a baby zombie riding on a chicken. In the movie, an actor shouts the words when one appears. Videos of fans cheering at this scene spread on TikTok.

3Some fans jumped from their seats and threw popcorn. Some theaters said this was a problem. A theater in England said noisy people would have to leave without getting their money back. A theater in the United States said children must come with an adult.

4Other theaters chose a different way. A theater company in the UK held special shows for fans who wanted to cheer. The movie earned about 300 million dollars around the world in its first weekend.

全文訳

12025年4月、世界中の映画ファンがスクリーンに向かって2つの単語を叫びました。その単語は「チキンジョッキー」です。この言葉は、2025年4月4日に公開された「マインクラフト／ザ・ムービー」に出てきます。

2マインクラフトのゲームでは、チキンジョッキーはニワトリに乗った子どものゾンビのことです。映画では、チキンジョッキーが出てくると俳優がその名前を叫びます。この場面でファンが盛り上がる動画が、TikTokで広まりました。

3席から飛び上がったり、ポップコーンを投げたりするファンもいました。これを問題だと言う映画館もありました。イギリスのある映画館は、さわいだ人には返金なしで出ていってもらうと発表しました。アメリカのある映画館は、子どもは大人といっしょに来なければならないと決めました。

4ちがうやり方を選んだ映画館もありました。イギリスの映画館チェーンは、盛り上がりたいファンのための特別上映を開きました。この映画は、公開最初の週末に世界で約3億ドルを稼ぎました。

文法ポイント：助動詞 must（～しなければならない）

must + 動詞の原形で「～しなければならない」という強い決まりを表す。本文の children must come with an adult は「子どもは大人といっしょに来なければならない」という意味。
