💡 どんな意味・どんなときに使う？
It is likely that ~ は「〜である可能性が高い」「おそらく〜だろう」という、確率を示すヘッジ（断定を和らげる）表現です。未来のことを will だけで断言すると言い過ぎになりがちですが、It is likely that ~ を使えば慎重かつ論理的に予測できます。S is likely to do の形でも言えて、More people are likely to ~ のように書き換え可能です。IELTS や TOEFL のアカデミックな英語で高く評価される言い回しです。

- 確実でないことを話すとき
- グラフの今後の傾向を予想するとき

It is likely that more people will work remotely in the future.将来、さらに多くの人がリモートで働く可能性が高いです。
It is likely that prices will continue to rise.物価は上がり続ける可能性が高いです。

It's unlikely that the problem will disappear soon.その問題がすぐに消える可能性は低いです。

It is probable that ~おそらく〜だろう｜よりフォーマル。
There's a good chance that ~〜の可能性は十分あります｜口語的。

⚠️ It is likely to ~ と It を主語にした to 不定詞の形は不自然。It is likely that ~ か、人・物 is likely to ~ にします。
