In April 1970, Apollo 13 was flying to the Moon with three astronauts. Suddenly, an oxygen tank exploded. They could not land on the Moon. The astronauts moved into the small lunar module and used it like a lifeboat.
Soon, there was too much carbon dioxide in the air. Engineers on Earth made a plan using bags, cardboard, and tape. The astronauts built it, and all three came home safely.

Q1. What is the passage mainly about?
Q2. What did the engineers use to make their plan?
Engineers on Earth made a plan using bags, cardboard, and tape.
Q3. In the passage, "exploded" means the tank ...
In April 1970, Apollo 13 was on its way to the Moon when an oxygen tank exploded about 56 hours after launch. Oxygen was needed not only for breathing but also for making electricity, so the Moon landing was cancelled. The three astronauts moved into the lunar module, a small craft designed for two people for about 45 hours, and used it as a lifeboat for about 90 hours.
Instead of turning back directly, they flew around the Moon and used its gravity to return to Earth. Another danger was carbon dioxide. The spare filters were square, but the opening was round, so engineers on the ground designed a connector from bags, cardboard, and tape.

Q1. Why was the Moon landing cancelled?
Oxygen was needed not only for breathing but also for making electricity, so the Moon landing was cancelled.
Q2. How did the astronauts return to Earth?
they flew around the Moon and used its gravity to return to Earth とあるので B。
Q3. What does the story of the filter show?
In April 1970, Apollo 13 was bound for the third crewed Moon landing when an oxygen tank in the service module exploded about 56 hours after launch. Because the oxygen supplied both the crew's air and the fuel cells that generated electricity, the landing was abandoned. The astronauts retreated into the lunar module Aquarius, a craft intended to support two people for about 45 hours, and stretched it to keep three alive for about 90. Rather than attempting a risky direct turnaround with a possibly damaged engine, they swung around the far side of the Moon, using its gravity to head home.
Carbon dioxide then became a critical threat: the lunar module's absorbers were insufficient, and the spare canisters from the command module were square while the sockets were round. Engineers on the ground, using only items on board, devised an adapter from plastic bags, cardboard, hoses, and tape, and radioed the instructions to the crew. An investigation later traced the explosion to damaged wire insulation caused by a voltage mismatch during ground testing. NASA calls the mission a "successful failure," and the famous line "Failure is not an option" was actually invented for a 1995 film.
