- E / I:外向 or 内向
- S / N:感覚 or 直観
- T / F:思考 or 感情
- J / P:判断 or 知覚

The MBTI is a popular personality test. It puts people into 16 types, such as INFP or ENTJ. It is fun to talk about with friends.
But many psychologists say people are not really divided into 16 clear groups. Most people are in the middle on each scale. So if you take the test again, your type may change. It is fine for fun, but do not use it to judge people.

Q1. What is the passage mainly about?
Q2. Why might your type change if you take the test again?
Most people are in the middle on each scale. So ... your type may change.
Q3. In this passage, "judge" means ...
The MBTI sorts people into 16 personality types using four scales, such as extraversion versus introversion. It was developed by Katharine Briggs and her daughter Isabel Myers from around the 1940s, based on Carl Jung's ideas. Scores on each scale are fairly stable over time.
However, most people score near the middle, not at the two ends. When the scores are cut in half, a small change in answers can flip a person into a different type. A 1993 review reported that in some studies, about half of the people received a different type after retaking the test a few weeks later. The MBTI can be a fun starting point for thinking about yourself, but it should not be used for hiring decisions.

Q1. Who developed the MBTI?
developed by Katharine Briggs and her daughter Isabel Myers ... based on Carl Jung's ideas とあるので D。
Q2. What did the 1993 review report?
about half of the people received a different type after retaking the test とあるので B。
Q3. What is the writer's opinion about the MBTI?
最終文 a fun starting point ... but it should not be used for hiring decisions が筆者の立場なので C。
In a 1949 demonstration, students rated a "personal" character sketch as highly accurate, though every student had received the same text. This is the Barnum effect, and it is one reason psychologists shrug when people say their Myers-Briggs type fits them. Katharine Briggs and Isabel Myers developed the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator from around the 1940s, building on Carl Jung's theory of types. It sorts people along four dichotomies into sixteen types.
Psychologists object less to the four scales than to the idea of distinct types. A 1989 study of about 470 adults found no evidence that the test measures separate categories. Its scales did line up with four of the Big Five traits (extraversion, openness, agreeableness and conscientiousness), but nothing in it corresponds to neuroticism.
Most people score near the middle of each scale, so splitting scores in half puts nearly identical people in opposite categories, and a small change in answers can flip a type. In some studies reviewed in 1993, about half of the people tested got a different type a few weeks later. As continuous scores, the scales are fairly reliable, good enough to start a conversation. But even its publisher advises against using it for hiring.
