Some people stand with their hands on their hips before a big test. This is called a power pose. A small study in 2010 said that two minutes of this pose changed people's hormones.
But in 2015, scientists did the test again with about 200 people. The hormones did not change. However, people still felt a little more powerful. Science checks itself by doing tests again.

Q1. What is the passage mainly about?
Q2. How many people were in the 2015 test?
did the test again with about 200 people とあるので D。
Q3. "Felt a little more powerful" means people felt ...
a little は「少し」、powerful は「力強い」。
In 2010, a study of 42 people reported that holding a "power pose," such as standing with your hands on your hips and your chest out, for about two minutes raised testosterone and lowered cortisol, a stress hormone. The idea spread around the world through a popular talk.
In 2015, however, researchers repeated the experiment with about 200 people. They found no change in hormones and no difference in risk-taking, although people said they felt slightly more powerful. Small studies can produce large differences just by chance, like rolling a die only ten times. This is why replication, or repeating experiments, is so important in science.

Q1. What is the passage mainly about?
Q2. What did the 2015 study find?
no change in hormones ... although people said they felt slightly more powerful とあるので C。
Q3. Why does the author mention rolling a die ten times?
Small studies can produce large differences just by chance のたとえとして挙げているので A。
In 2010, Carney, Cuddy and Yap asked 42 participants to hold expansive postures for about two minutes. Afterward the volunteers showed higher testosterone, lower cortisol and a greater willingness to take risks. The idea spread fast, partly because it promised so much for so little: change how you stand, and your body chemistry follows.
In 2015, Ranehill and colleagues repeated the experiment with about 200 participants. They found no effect on hormones or risk-taking, only a modest increase in self-reported feelings of power. Carney later publicly said she no longer believed the effects were real. Chance may explain the first result, since small samples can produce large differences that do not hold up.
Power posing became a symbol of psychology's reproducibility crisis. That same year, a large project repeated 100 published experiments and got equally clear results in fewer than half of them. Reforms followed, including registering study plans in advance and using larger samples. Cuddy and colleagues pushed back in 2018 with an analysis arguing that the effect on feelings of power is supported. So the hormone claim has collapsed, and the argument now centers on a modest boost in people's sense of power.
