1HBO's new Harry Potter series will begin streaming in Japan on Friday, December 25. The Japanese release date was announced on October 30, along with a new main image for the show. The series will be available on HBO Max on Hulu, a service inside Hulu, with no extra charge for monthly members. Viewers can choose Japanese subtitles or a Japanese dubbed version.

2The first season, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, has eight episodes. In Japanese, the first book is called Harry Potter to Kenja no Ishi. In the eight-film movie series, this story took up only one film. With eight episodes, the drama has room for parts of the story that the film left out.
