A Message That Takes a Day to Arrive
1NASA's Voyager 1 spacecraft will soon be one light-day away from Earth. A light-day is how far light travels in one day. It is about 25.9 billion kilometers.
2Voyager 1 will reach this point on November 18. In Japan, it will happen at about 7:16 in the evening. Nothing made by people has ever been this far from Earth.
3At that distance, a message from Earth will take a full day to reach Voyager 1. Voyager 1's answer will need another day to come back. If scientists send a message on Monday morning, the answer will arrive on Wednesday morning.
4Voyager 1 left Earth in 1977. It flew past Saturn in 1980 and kept going. It now moves at about 61,000 kilometers an hour.
5To save power, NASA has turned off most of Voyager 1's tools. Only two of them are still on.

文法ポイント:未来を表す will(will + 動詞の原形)
Voyager 1 will reach this point on November 18.(ボイジャー1号は11月18日にここに着く)がその例。
