1A new edition of Minecraft for Nintendo Switch 2 went on sale in Japan on October 28. Mojang Studios, which develops the game, had announced in August that the edition would launch on October 27, local time. The Switch 2 version was announced in a Nintendo Direct broadcast on June 9.

2The main change is a new graphics feature. It strengthens lighting and shadows, and it improves reflections on the surface of water. The game keeps its familiar blocky look. What changes is the way light and shade fall across the blocks.

3All content sold in the game's official Marketplace can also be used with the new graphics. That includes the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack, an add-on for Nintendo players. The pack has been updated to use the new lighting.

4Save data from the original Switch version can be moved to the new edition. This means players can open the worlds they have already built and continue from where they stopped. They do not have to rebuild their houses and towns from the first block.

5The standard edition costs 4,730 yen, including tax. People who own the download version for the original Switch can upgrade to it for 100 yen. That is about 2 percent of the standard price. Larger collections with extra content are also sold, but the 100-yen price is for an upgrade to the standard edition. The 100-yen offer is available only until January 31, 2027.

1マインクラフトの Nintendo Switch 2 版が、10月28日に日本で発売されました。ゲームを開発する Mojang Studios（モヤン・スタジオ）は、8月に、現地時間の10月27日に発売すると発表していました。Switch 2 版は、6月9日のニンテンドーダイレクトの配信で発表されていました。

2いちばんの変化は、光の表現のための新しいグラフィックの機能「バイブラントビジュアルズ」です。この機能は光の当たり方と影を強め、水面に映る景色もよりよく見せます。ゲームは、おなじみのブロックらしい見た目のままです。変わるのは、ブロックへの光と影の当たり方です。

3ゲームの中の公式マーケットプレイスで売られているコンテンツも、すべて新しいグラフィックで使えます。その中には、任天堂のゲーム機のプレーヤー向けの追加コンテンツ「スーパーマリオ マッシュアップパック」も入っています。このパックは、新しい光の表現を使えるように新しくなりました。

4前の Switch 版のセーブデータは、新しい版に移すことができます。つまり、プレーヤーはもう作った世界を開いて、止めたところから続きを遊べます。家や町を、最初のブロックから作り直さなくてもよいのです。
