Fixing LINE Messages Now Costs Money

1LINE users in Japan can no longer edit their messages for free. Since October 20, the feature has been part of a paid plan called LYP Premium.

2The edit feature lets you fix a message after you send it. In chats, you can change it for up to 15 minutes. Edited messages show a small mark that says "edited."

3LINE started testing the feature in August. Anyone could try it for free in a part of the app called LINE Labs.

4LINE Labs now has another test feature called Scroll Preview. You press and hold a chat in your list, and a small window opens. You can scroll through the messages there without leaving a "read" mark. It is free now, but LINE plans to move it to the paid plan later.

全文訳

1日本のLINEの利用者は、もう無料ではメッセージを編集できなくなりました。10月20日から、この機能は「LYPプレミアム」という有料プランの一部になりました。

2編集の機能を使うと、送ったあとでメッセージを直せます。トークでは、15分までなら変えられます。編集したメッセージには、「編集済み」という小さな印が出ます。

3LINEは8月にこの機能のお試しを始めました。アプリの「LINEラボ」というところで、だれでも無料で試せました。

4LINEラボには今、「スクロールプレビュー」という別のお試しの機能もあります。トークの一覧でトークを長押しすると、小さな画面が開きます。そこでメッセージをスクロールして読んでも、「既読」の印はつきません。今は無料ですが、LINEはあとで有料プランに移す予定です。

文法ポイント：let + 人 + 動詞の原形（人に～させてあげる）

「（人）が～できるようにする」を表す。本文の The edit feature lets you fix a message は「編集の機能は、あなたがメッセージを直せるようにする」、つまり「編集機能を使うとメッセージを直せる」という意味。let のあとの動詞は to をつけない原形。
