1Nintendo released a new video on Oct. 14 for its remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The remake goes on sale on Nov. 5 for the Nintendo Switch 2. The video, about four and a half minutes long, introduced the story, characters, bosses and areas of the game.

2The original action game was released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998. Nintendo announced the remake in a Nintendo Direct broadcast on June 9 and revealed its release date and gameplay on Sept. 8. The new version has been rebuilt from the ground up with new graphics.

3The original was the first game in the series to use 3D graphics. In the story, a boy named Link travels between his childhood and his life as a young adult. He uses different items and actions in each period to move forward. The remake is part of the celebrations for the series' 40th anniversary.

4Some changes make the game easier to play. Link, the hero, can now jump by pressing a button, and other characters speak with recorded voices. The ocarina, a small wind instrument that Link plays to perform songs, also works in a new way. When players hum or play a tune into the Switch 2 microphone, Link's ocarina responds. Players can still use buttons instead if they prefer.

5The Oct. 14 video also showed a new place somewhere in the game world. It holds statues of the monsters that players have defeated. Players can learn about each monster's features there and take on powerful enemies a second time.

1任天堂は10月14日、「ゼルダの伝説 時のオカリナ」のリメイク版の新しい映像を公開しました。リメイク版は11月5日に、Nintendo Switch 2向けに発売されます。約4分半の映像では、ゲームの物語、キャラクター、ボス、そして各地の場所が紹介されました。

2もとのアクションゲームは、1998年にNINTENDO 64向けに発売されました。任天堂は6月9日の番組「Nintendo Direct」でリメイク版を発表し、9月8日に発売日と遊ぶ様子を明らかにしました。新しい版は、新しいグラフィックで一から作り直されています。

3もとのゲームは、シリーズで初めて3Dのグラフィックを使ったゲームでした。物語では、リンクという少年が、子どものころと大人になったころの2つの時代を行き来します。リンクは、それぞれの時代でちがう道具や動きを使って先へ進みます。リメイク版は、シリーズ40周年を記念する作品の1つです。

文法ポイント：関係代名詞 that（目的格）

名詞のあとに that + 主語 + 動詞 を続けて、「～が…した〔名詞〕」と説明する。本文の the monsters that players have defeated（プレイヤーが倒した魔物）がその例。目的格の that は省略することもできる。
