A Chiikawa Plane Is Ready to Fly

1ANA, a Japanese airline, showed a specially painted plane at Haneda Airport on Oct. 18. The plane has characters from Chiikawa, a popular Japanese comic. It is called the Chiikawa Jet.

2Eight characters are painted on the plane. They include Chiikawa, Hachiware and Usagi. Around them are pictures of things people can see in Japan in each season.

3The Chiikawa Jet will start flying on Oct. 19. Its first flight will leave Haneda at 8:15 a.m. and go to Nagasaki. After that, it will not stay on one route. It will fly between many different cities in Japan.

4The characters are inside the plane, too. Seats in economy class will have special covers with the characters on them. Drinks will come in special paper cups.

5Chiikawa is very popular this year. A Chiikawa movie opened in July and had earned more than 17.9 billion yen by Oct. 12.

全文訳

1日本の航空会社のANA（全日空）が、10月18日に羽田空港で、特別な絵をかいた飛行機を見せました。その飛行機には、人気の日本のマンガ「ちいかわ」のキャラクターが描かれています。名前は「ちいかわジェット」です。

2飛行機には8人のキャラクターが描かれています。その中には、ちいかわ、ハチワレ、うさぎがいます。まわりには、日本で季節ごとに見られるものの絵があります。

3ちいかわジェットは、10月19日に飛び始めます。最初の便は朝8時15分に羽田を出て、長崎へ向かいます。そのあとは、1つの路線だけを飛ぶのではありません。日本のいろいろな町と町のあいだを飛びます。

4キャラクターは飛行機の中にもいます。エコノミークラスの席には、キャラクターの絵がついた特別なカバーがつきます。飲み物は、特別な紙コップで出てきます。

5ちいかわは、今年とても人気です。7月に公開されたちいかわの映画は、10月12日までに179億円以上をかせぎました。
