1New Pokémon card sets go on sale in Japan on October 16. The sets celebrate 30 years of the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

2The first Pokémon cards were sold in Japan on October 20, 1996. Since then, more than 85 billion cards have been made. The cards are sold in more than 90 countries and regions.

3Each new set costs 1,200 yen. It has three shiny cards and two packs of six cards. There are nine different sets, and each one shows three starter Pokémon.

4Lawson sells two of the nine sets. Lawson expects many fans to want them, so it will not take orders before the sale. To be fair to everyone, each customer can usually buy only one of each set at a time. A 30th anniversary event will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba on October 25.

110月16日、ポケモンカードの新しいセットが、日本で発売されます。このセットは、ポケモンカードゲームの30周年をお祝いするものです。

2最初のポケモンカードは、1996年10月20日に日本で売り出されました。それから今までに、850億枚以上のカードが作られてきました。カードは、90以上の国と地域で売られています。

3新しいセットは、1つ1,200円です。中には、キラキラのカード3枚と、6枚入りのパック2つが入っています。セットは全部で9種類あり、どれも最初のパートナーのポケモン3匹がテーマです。

4ローソンが売るのは、9種類のうち2種類です。ほしいファンが多いと見て、ローソンは発売前の予約を受けないことにしました。みんなが公平に買えるように、1回のお会計で買えるのは、ふつうはそれぞれのセットを1個までです（店によってちがうこともあります）。10月25日には、千葉の幕張メッセで30周年のイベントが開かれます。

文法ポイント：現在完了の受け身（have been + 過去分詞）

「（今までに）～されてきた」を表す。本文の more than 85 billion cards have been made（850億枚以上のカードが作られてきた）がその例。Since then（それから）といっしょによく使う。
