シックスセブン(67)とは?日本の流行語調査で3位タイ、意味と元ネタをおさらい
Six Seven Reaches Japan's Junior High Slang Top Three
1The slang term 67, pronounced six seven, has made the top three among junior high students in a Japanese survey of popular words. Sony Life, a life insurance company, carried out the online survey from June 4 to 12 and released the results on July 28. It asked 200 junior high and 800 high school students across Japan about their hopes for the future and other topics, including popular words. Among the junior high students, 67 tied for third place with sugite metsu, another slang phrase.
2Wahoo came first in both groups. Sorena was second among the junior high students. The high school students did not put 67 in their top three. The US dictionary Merriam-Webster describes 67 as a nonsense phrase used mainly by teens and preteens.
3The term comes from Doot Doot (6 7), a 2024 song by the rapper Skrilla. It spread through TikTok clips of basketball highlights, including clips of LaMelo Ball, an NBA player who is 6 feet 7 inches tall. Fans say the number while moving both palms up and down in turns, so their hands look like a pair of scales. On October 28, 2025, Dictionary.com named 67 its Word of the Year.
4What makes 67 unusual is that it has no fixed meaning. Dictionary.com said it can mean so-so or maybe this, maybe that, but it also works as a stock reply to almost any question. The dictionary also said that saying 67 can show that a person belongs to a group that shares the joke.
5As the term spread among students in the US in 2025, some teachers banned it in class. Others chose to join in and use it with their students. Dictionary.com said searches for 67 on its site rose more than sixfold from June 2025.

What makes 67 unusual is that it has no fixed meaning. は「67をふつうとちがうものにしているのは、決まった意味がないということだ」。make + O + C(O を C にする)の形も入っている。
