1Mrs. GREEN APPLE's sixth original album, POPS, has topped Billboard Japan's main album chart after selling 638,788 CDs in its first week. The chart, released on October 7, counted sales and plays from September 28 to October 4. Billboard Japan said it was the band's best CD sales result for an original album. The early count had already passed half a million copies by September 30.

2POPS also ranked first in downloads, with 8,701, and in streaming. Billboard Japan described the result as a triple crown. Oricon, a separate chart company, also placed the album at number one on its weekly album ranking.

3The album went on sale online on September 29 and as a CD the next day. It arrived about three years after the band's previous original album, ANTENNA, which came out in July 2023. Of its 16 tracks, nine are new, while seven had already been released.

4Several of the earlier songs are tied to films and anime. "Brand New" serves as the Japanese theme song for the movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The opening song for the second season of the anime Frieren is also on the album.

5The new songs drew attention quickly. "Kyohan" debuted at number one on Billboard Japan's Hot Shot Songs chart, which follows fast-rising songs. Seven of the top 10 songs on that chart came from POPS. On October 8, Oricon said the band held the top four places on its weekly ranking of songs whose streaming numbers grew the most.
