Dubai Chocolate Mochi Was a Big Hit
1Dubai chocolate mochi was one of the biggest food trends among teenage girls in Japan this year. It is a soft rice cake with a sweet filling.
2The company Mynavi asked 610 girls aged 13 to 19 about trends in April. Dubai chocolate mochi came second in the goods group with 40.5 percent. Only sticker albums got more votes.
3The filling has pistachio cream chocolate. It also has kadayif, a kind of thin and crunchy pastry. So the sweet is chewy and crunchy at the same time.
4The sweet grew out of Dubai chocolate, a chocolate bar first made by a shop in Dubai. Girls in the survey said a Korean pop idol helped make it famous.
5Now the boom is getting smaller. In June, 11.8 percent of high school students in another survey named it as a food trend. In September, only 3.2 percent did.

1ドバイチョコ餅は、今年、日本の10代の女の子たちのあいだで、いちばん大きな食べ物の流行の一つでした。やわらかいおもちの中に、あまいものが入っています。
2マイナビという会社が4月、13歳から19歳の女の子610人に、流行について聞きました。モノ部門で、ドバイチョコ餅は40.5％で2位になりました。これより票が多かったのは、シール帳だけでした。
3中には、ピスタチオクリームのチョコが入っています。カダイフという、細くてザクザクした生地も入っています。だから、もちもちとザクザクを同時に楽しめます。
