Pressure Points and Test Anxiety
1In two small studies, students felt less anxious after points on their body were pressed. This kind of pressing is called acupressure.
2Acupressure comes from traditional Chinese medicine. People press points on the body with their fingers, not with needles.
3In a 2025 study, 118 nursing students were split into two groups before an exam. One group had three points pressed for a few minutes. The points were near the wrist, between the eyebrows and on the ear. The other group just waited. In the first group, anxiety went down, and heart rates slowed.
4A 2023 study in Iran tested 114 medical students. Half had a point on the ear pressed for 10 minutes before a test. The others had a different spot on the earlobe pressed. Only the first group's anxiety scores went down.
5Both studies looked at university students. In both studies, students answered questions about their own feelings. The team in Iran said more research is needed. Neither study checked whether test scores went up.

This kind of pressing is called acupressure. call A B(A を B と呼ぶ)を受け身にすると A is called B になる。118 nursing students were split into two groups(2つのグループに分けられた)も受け身。
