KPop Demon Hunters Takes Home Best Animated Feature and Best Song
1KPop Demon Hunters won two Oscars at the 98th Academy Awards in Hollywood on March 15, 2026. The Netflix film was named best animated feature. Golden, a song from the film, won best original song. Golden became the first K-pop song to win that award.
2The film was directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans and made with Sony Pictures Animation. It follows HUNTR/X, a K-pop girl group whose three members secretly hunt demons. Their songs create a magic barrier called the Honmoon, which protects humans from demons. The film also recreates the skyline of Seoul in detail.
