Climate Talks End in the Amazon
1Nearly 200 countries met in Belem, Brazil, to talk about climate change. The meeting was called COP30. It ended on November 22, 2025, after two weeks of talks. Belem is a city in the Amazon rainforest.
2The countries agreed to send more money to help people get ready for climate change. This money can pay for things like stronger sea walls. The goal is to make it at least three times bigger by 2035.
3Brazil also started a new fund to protect tropical forests. It will pay countries that keep their forests standing. Countries such as Norway and Germany have promised 5.5 billion dollars for it.
4More than 80 countries wanted a plan to stop using fossil fuels like oil and coal. However, not all countries agreed, so the plan was not in the final deal. Brazil said it would make the plan for countries that want to join.
