67 Is the Word of the Year

1Dictionary.com has chosen 67 as its Word of the Year for 2025. People say it as six seven, not sixty-seven. And the word has no clear meaning.

2Kids often say it with a hand move. They hold up both hands and move them up and down, one after the other. Dictionary.com said it can sometimes mean so-so or not sure.

3The word came from a rap song released in December 2024. Then it spread on TikTok in basketball videos. One famous player in the videos is 6 feet 7 inches tall. That is about 201 centimeters.

4Searches for 67 grew more than six times after June. Students began saying it in class, and some teachers banned it.

5Dictionary.com said the word is important to young people because it brings them together. Other words on its final list included tariff, a tax on goods from other countries.
