A Letter From the Sea

1A family in Australia found a message in a bottle from 1916. They found it on October 9, 2025, while they were cleaning a beach. The beach is near the town of Esperance in Western Australia.

2Inside the bottle, there were two letters written in pencil. Two Australian soldiers wrote them on a ship. The ship was going to Europe during World War I.

3One soldier wrote to his mother. He said he was very happy and the food was good. The other soldier wished good health to the person who found the bottle.

4The paper was wet, but people could still read the words. The family found relatives of both soldiers and told them about the letters. The relatives were very surprised to read the letters after 109 years.
