1Many people turned their photos into pictures in the style of Studio Ghibli in March 2025. They used a new image tool in ChatGPT, an AI service made by OpenAI.

2Studio Ghibli is a famous anime studio in Japan. Its films include My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away. One of its founders, Hayao Miyazaki, is known for drawing by hand.

3The pictures spread quickly on social media. So many people used the tool that OpenAI had to set limits. Free users could make only three pictures a day.

4Some artists were not happy about the trend. They worried that AI tools learn from artists' work without permission. OpenAI said it blocks requests for the style of a living artist. But it allows the styles of studios. Studio Ghibli did not comment.

12025年3月、たくさんの人が自分の写真をスタジオジブリ風の絵に変えました。使ったのは、OpenAIのAIサービス「ChatGPT」の新しい画像機能です。

2スタジオジブリは、日本の有名なアニメスタジオです。作品には「となりのトトロ」や「千と千尋の神隠し」があります。創設者のひとり、宮崎駿さんは、手で絵をかくことで知られています。

3こうした絵は、SNSであっという間に広まりました。あまりに多くの人が使ったため、OpenAIは利用を制限しなければなりませんでした。無料で使う人は、1日に3枚しか絵をつくれなくなりました。

4この流行を快く思わないアーティストもいました。AIがアーティストの作品から勝手に学んでいるのではないかと心配したのです。OpenAIは、生きているアーティストの画風をまねる注文は断っていると話しました。ただし、スタジオの画風は認めているとしています。スタジオジブリはコメントしませんでした。

文法ポイント：so ～ that …（とても～なので…）

「とても～なので…だ」と、原因と結果を1文で表す。本文の So many people used the tool that OpenAI had to set limits. は「とても多くの人がそのツールを使ったので、OpenAIは制限を設けなければならなかった」という意味。
