A Station Made by a 3D Printer
1Workers in Japan built a new train station building in one night. The building was made with a 3D printer. The building stands at Hatsushima Station in Arida, Wakayama.
2A giant 3D printer made four big parts at a factory in Kumamoto. The printer pushed out special cement, layer by layer. Trucks then carried the parts to the station.
3On March 25, 2025, the last train left the station just before midnight. Workers used a crane to put the parts together. They finished in about two hours, before the first train in the morning.
4The building is about 2.6 meters tall. Its walls have designs of mikan oranges and a local fish. The railway company said a building like this usually takes one or two months.
5The new station building opened to passengers on July 22, 2025. Inside, there is a ticket machine and a bench for two people.

全文訳
1日本で、作業員たちが新しい駅舎をたった一晩で建てました。その建物は、3Dプリンターで作られました。建物は、和歌山県有田市の初島駅にあります。
2熊本県の工場で、巨大な3Dプリンターが4つの大きな部品を作りました。プリンターは、特別なセメントを一層ずつ押し出していきました。それからトラックが、部品を駅まで運びました。
32025年3月25日、最後の電車が夜の12時少し前に駅を出ました。作業員たちは、クレーンを使って部品を組み立てました。作業は約2時間で終わり、朝の始発電車に間に合いました。
4建物の高さは約2.6メートルです。壁には、みかんと地元でとれる魚の模様がついています。鉄道会社によると、こうした建物はふつう1〜2か月かかるそうです。
