1A march played in the TBS drama VIVANT has turned into a popular meme on Japanese social media. The music was heard in the 21st episode, which was broadcast on October 18. In the drama, the music is called the Beppan ceremonial march.

2In the scene, members of Beppan, a secret team in the story, have just been rescued and have escaped from an airport on a plane. The main character, played by Masato Sakai, orders a hacker to play the march. When the members hear it, they stand up straight. The piece was written by Akira Senju, who composes the music for the drama.

3On X, users began a game built around a simple question. They imagined what would have happened if the hacker had played the wrong song by mistake. One user matched the scene to a completely different song, and that video has been viewed more than 4.3 million times, Nikkan Sports reported. Others suggested songs such as the theme from Detective Conan and ultra soul.

4The brass band at Osaka Toin High School, which is known for playing at the Koshien baseball tournament, joined the fun. On October 20, just two days after the episode, a video of the band playing the march appeared on the official YouTube channel of its alumni group. The video is two minutes and eight seconds long. Its description jokes that the band had received no orders from Beppan.

5Many viewers were surprised by the speed and the quality of the performance. Some joked that every member of the club must secretly belong to Beppan. VIVANT came third in a LINE Research survey, released on October 23, that asked people aged 15 to 24 what they think is popular now.

1TBS のドラマ「VIVANT」で流れた行進曲が、日本の SNS で人気のミームになっています。曲が流れたのは、10月18日に放送された第21話です。ドラマの中では、この曲は「別班儀礼曲」と呼ばれています。

2その場面では、物語に出てくる秘密のチーム「別班」のメンバーが救出され、空港から飛行機で脱出したところです。堺雅人さんが演じる主人公は、ハッカーにこの行進曲を流すよう命じます。メンバーはそれを聞くと、背すじをのばします。曲を作ったのは、このドラマの音楽を担当している千住明さんです。

文法ポイント：仮定法過去完了（if + had + 過去分詞）

「（あのとき）もし〜していたら」と、過去の事実と反対のことを想像する形。本文の what would have happened if the hacker had played the wrong song by mistake（もしハッカーがまちがえて別の曲を流していたら、どうなっていたか）がその例。if のほうは had + 過去分詞、もう一方は would have + 過去分詞になる。
