Takkyubin is the Japanese home delivery system, and for a traveler it is one of the most useful things in the country. You hand a suitcase to a hotel front desk in the morning and it reaches your next hotel the following day, usually for under three thousand yen.
You can pick a two-hour delivery window, change the address by app while the parcel is in transit, and send chilled or frozen food with a temperature-controlled option. Convenience stores accept parcels around the clock and hold incoming ones for you.
