South Sudan Gets Its First World Heritage Site
1South Sudan got its first UNESCO World Heritage site on July 26, 2026. It is a huge area of grassland and wetlands called Boma-Badingilo. The decision was made at a UNESCO meeting in Busan, South Korea.
2Every year, about six million antelopes move across this land. That is more than the number of people in Hokkaido. They walk long distances to find water and fresh grass. Experts say it is the largest migration of mammals in the world.
3UNESCO also put the area on its list of World Heritage in Danger. This means the area needs special protection now. The government of South Sudan said it will use the new title to protect wildlife. It also hopes more tourists will visit and bring jobs to local people.

文法ポイント:比較級(more than ~ / largest)
本文の more than the number of people in Hokkaido と the largest migration of mammals がその例。
