One Charger for Laptops in Europe
1A new rule about chargers started in Europe on April 28, 2026. New laptops sold in the European Union must now charge with USB-C.
2USB-C is a small, flat plug. You can put it in either way up. Many phones and game machines already use it.
3The same rule started for phones and tablets in December 2024. Cameras, headphones, keyboards and mice are on the list too. Laptop makers got extra time to get ready.
4The EU wants to cut electronic waste. Every year, about 11,000 tons of chargers in the EU are thrown away or never used. Now shoppers can buy a new device without a charger. A small picture on the box shows if a charger is inside.
5The EU expects people to save at least 250 million euros a year on chargers.

文法ポイント:助動詞 must(〜しなければならない)
New laptops sold in the European Union must now charge with USB-C.
