As a short speech

A full paragraph you can read aloud

Nozawa Onsen is a small hot spring village in the snowy mountains of northern Nagano. What makes it special is its thirteen public bathhouses, called sotoyu. They are looked after by groups of local residents, who clean them and keep them running, and anyone can use them by putting a small donation in the box at the door.

Some of the water is very hot, so locals often pour it over their bodies before getting in. The village also has a spring that comes out of the ground hot enough for residents to boil vegetables and eggs in. Nozawana, the pickled greens eaten all over Nagano, are named after this village.

In winter, skiers from around the world come here, and on January 15th, the village holds a fire festival. Men in their unlucky years, aged 42 and 25, defend a huge wooden shrine while other villagers try to set it on fire. To me, Nozawa shows how an onsen can still be part of daily life.
