Now, they can simply take a photo with their smartphone, write a short description, and post it online. Buyers from all over the country can then see the item.

This convenience has helped the reuse market grow rapidly. Buyers can find items at low prices, and the apps handle payment and delivery, so buyers and sellers do not need to share their addresses or bank details. Many young people now even consider the resale price when they buy something new, planning to sell it after using it. Supporters also say the apps help the environment by reducing the number of items that are thrown away.

At the same time, there have been problems. Some sellers post fake brand-name goods, and others buy popular concert tickets or new game consoles only to resell them at very high prices.
