How to make an origami LilyゆりLily
A traditional lily with four petals that open outward. It is folded from the frog base, with four squash folds and four petal folds.

How to fold
-
Fold in half to make a triangle.
-
Fold in half again.
-
Turn over and squash this side too. This is the preliminary base.
-
Lift the right flap straight up, open it and squash it flat along the center line.
Turn one layer from left to right so a smooth face shows.
-
Petal fold: lift the bottom corner up while the lower edges fold in to the center.
Turn over, turn one layer, and petal fold this side too.
-
Turn two layers from left to right, then petal fold.
-
Turn over, turn two layers, and petal fold. This is the frog base.
-
Fold the front triangle down.
-
Turn over and do the same.
-
Turn two layers and narrow the other two faces the same way.
-
Turn it upside down and spread the four petals outward.
-
Finished! Curl each petal outward around a pencil. Your lily is finished! You can push the bottom tip into a straw to make a stem.
Fun fact
This lily is a traditional model folded in many countries. The frog base is the starting point for the frog, the iris and the lily.
