This picture is on a ceiling in Vatican City. God gives life to the first man, Adam. Their fingers almost touch. Michelangelo painted it. He stood and looked up for a long time!

The Creation of Adam shows a scene from the Book of Genesis: God gives life to Adam, the first man. It is part of the huge ceiling Michelangelo painted in the Sistine Chapel from 1508 to 1512. This scene was painted around 1511–1512. The whole ceiling has more than 300 figures.
