🦉 Fun Fact! After Vermeer died, the person in charge of his estate was Antonie van Leeuwenhoek. He was born in Delft in 1632, the same year as Vermeer, and was the first to see tiny living things through his own microscopes. He did not accept the transfer of the painting to Vermeer's mother-in-law.
