イタリア中部の町ボルゴ・サン・セポルクロ（今のサンセポルクロ）に生まれました。落ち着いた光と、きちんと計算された形の絵で知られます。ウルビーノの公爵フェデリーコ・ダ・モンテフェルトロにも仕えました。数学にもすぐれ、遠近法や幾何学について本を書いています。亡くなったのは、コロンブスがアメリカに着いたのと同じ1492年です。
Piero was born in Borgo San Sepolcro, a town in central Italy now called Sansepolcro. His paintings are known for calm light and carefully planned shapes. He worked for Federico da Montefeltro, the Duke of Urbino. He was also a fine mathematician and wrote books about perspective and geometry. He died in 1492, the same year Columbus reached the Americas.
