入試の言い換え

• while 〜である一方 — 接続詞。対比の意味では whereas とほぼ同じだが、『〜の間』『〜だが』とも読める
• on the other hand 他方では — 副詞句なので2文に分けて使う（A. On the other hand, B.）
• in contrast 対照的に — 副詞句。2文に分けて使う
• but しかし — 接続詞。対比の明確さは whereas に劣る
• unlike ~ 〜と違って — 前置詞。名詞を続けて文構造を変える

while より対比の意味がはっきりしていて誤読されないため、書き言葉で好まれる。契約書の冒頭の Whereas（〜であるので）は別の古い用法で、入試ではもっぱら『対比』。
