This is a very famous picture. A person stands on a bridge under a red sky. Is the person screaming, or covering their ears? We do not know. Munch said he felt a big scream in nature.

Norwegian painter Edvard Munch made this, his most famous work, in 1893. Under a blood-red, swirling sunset, a figure with a skull-like face stands on a bridge above a fjord. The figure holds its face in its hands. Behind it, two people walk on as if nothing is wrong.

🦉 Fun Fact! In February 1994, on the opening day of the Lillehammer Winter Olympics, thieves climbed a ladder, broke a window and took this painting. They reportedly left a note: "Thanks for the poor security." It was found safely about three months later.

【本文の訳】ノルウェーの画家ムンクが1893年に描いた、いちばん有名な作品です。血のように赤くうねる夕焼け空の下、フィヨルド（入り江）を見下ろす橋の上で、骸骨のような顔の人物が両手で頬をおさえています。うしろでは2人の人物が、何も気づかないように歩いていきます。

    解説：2021年の筆跡調査で、ムンクの字だと発表されました。
