This is a sunrise. The sun is very bright, and light goes everywhere. Munch also painted The Scream. But this picture is full of hope! It is very big, more than seven meters wide.

Edvard Munch, famous for The Scream, painted this huge picture in 1910–1911. The sun rises from the sea beyond a bay, and rays of light burst across the whole canvas. The light reaches the rocks and green fields in front, painting the world in bands of color. The view is based on Kragerø, a seaside town in southern Norway.

【本文の訳】「叫び」で知られるノルウェーの画家ムンクが、1910〜1911年に描いた巨大な絵です。入り江の向こうの海から太陽がのぼり、光の線が画面いっぱいに放たれています。光は手前の岩や緑の草原にまでとどき、色とりどりの帯となって世界を照らしています。場所はノルウェー南部の海辺の町クラーゲリョーの景色がもとになっています。
