持ち主は、アメリカの大銀行家 1907年、アメリカの大銀行家で美術収集家でもあったJ・P・モルガンがこの絵を買いました。彼の死後は息子、画商、ハリー・オークス夫妻の手をへて、1946年に収集家ホレス・ハヴマイヤーが購入。1962年、彼の息子たちが国立の美術館に寄贈しました。
