This painting was made by the French artist Georges de La Tour around 1636–40. Four people are around a table, playing cards. The young man on the right, in fancy clothes, comes from a rich family. The woman in the center, the servant bringing wine and the man on the left are working together. Behind his back, the man on the left is pulling the ace of diamonds from his belt.

【本文の訳】この絵は、フランスの画家ジョルジュ・ド・ラ・トゥールが1636〜40年ごろに描いたものです。テーブルをかこんでトランプの勝負中。右の若者は、豪華な服を着たお金持ちのおぼっちゃん。まん中の女性と、ワインを運ぶ召使い、そして左の男はぐるになっていて、左の男は背中に回した手で、ベルトからダイヤのエースを抜き出そうとしています。

  1. T　右の若者は、まわりのたくらみに気づいていないように見える。
    解説：自分のカードを見つめていて、まわりの目くばせには気づいていません。
