A big black and purple circle at the top left, straight lines, triangles, half circles and checkerboard patterns echo each other on a light background. The image here is a photo taken in the gallery. The painting is in the Guggenheim Museum in New York.

🦉 Fun Fact! Kandinsky wrote that when he heard Wagner's opera 'Lohengrin' in Moscow, he saw colors in his mind. Some say he had synesthesia, a condition that links senses like color and sound. For him, painting was close to making music.

色を見ると音が聞こえる！？ カンディンスキーは、モスクワでワーグナーのオペラ『ローエングリン』を聞いたとき、心の中に色が見えたと書いています。色と音が結びついて感じられる「共感覚」があったとも言われます。彼にとって絵をかくことは、音楽を作ることに近かったのです。
