A rider painted in blue rides a white horse. They jump into a yellow sky. This is a plan for a book cover. Two painters loved blue. One loved horses, and one loved riders. So they named it 'The Blue Rider'!

Inside a blue border is a yellow sky. A blue rider on a white horse races upward, with a red cape flying behind. Kandinsky painted this small watercolor in 1911 as a study for a book cover. It is only 29 centimeters tall. It is now in the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
