Kenta	Lucía, why is there a cup of twelve grapes in front of me?
Lucía	It's for midnight! We eat one grape with each bell from the clock in Puerta del Sol.
Kenta	Twelve grapes with twelve bells? That sounds easy.
Lucía	It isn't! The bells are fast. My mouth is always full at the end.
Kenta	Ha ha. Why twelve?
Lucía	One grape is one month. If you finish them all, you'll be lucky all year.
Kenta	I read that grape farmers started it to sell more grapes. Is that true?
Lucía	Only partly. Farmers made it popular in 1909, but newspapers wrote about it before that.
Kenta	So it's older than people think. Cool.
Lucía	And my cousins in the Canary Islands eat their grapes one hour after us!
Kenta	Oh, because of the time difference?
Lucía	Exactly. Do you have something like this in Japan?
Kenta	We listen to temple bells. They ring 108 times, but we don't eat anything.
Lucía	Good! 108 grapes would be too many. Quick, it's almost time!
